British Brewer offers an antidote to the effects of blackfly bites

Badger Brewery of Blanford St. Mary, Dorset, England, are offering to the drinking public a bottled ale which is claimed to be specially designed to counteract the effects of the bites of the "Blanford Fly", Simulium posticatum Meigen, which is a well known pest along reaches of the River Stour, Dorset, England in the spring.

The inspired inclusion of ginger in this ale has made the antidote so agreeable that the locals now claim the Fly swarms all year round... thus the warning cry is oft heard in the locality...
